AGM – Headlines

The major change at the AGM was to include in the membership fee all of our activities at Curborough except races. In previous years these sessions cost at least £1.50 per person. The increase in membership fees to allow for this change is only £6.00 per individual so if you come to coaching sessions or Friday evenings you will soon recoup this.

World Masters Update

Sunday – Silver medal for Julie Cooper, partnered by Debbie Capewell in the team sprint

Friday & Saturday – good rides from Beth, Alison, Steve and Graham in hard competitive races, but no podium places.

Friday morning – Steve Clayton progressed through the heats to the finals of their respective scratch  and points races. Finals tonight.

Thursday night – Alison Holmes had a good ride in her scratch race but said she ‘ran out of legs at the end’

World Record Attempt

Beth Clayton is going to attempt to break the World One Hour Record for her age group at the World Masters Track Championships in October.

If you have seen the TV coverage of Chris Boardman or Graham Obree attempting the same you will appreciate the magnitude of the task and your vocal support on the trackside will help to keep her on schedule.
