Leicestershire league Misterton

Race report from supported rider Toby Barnes

Today I did the second round of the new Leicestershire cx league at Misterton hall, Lutterworth. This was my first time racing at this course for a few years and I was really looking forward to it. It was the muddiest race so far of the season which added a bit more of a technical part to the race. I went hard straight off the start and went flat out for the first lap. I’d then worked out who was going to be challenging for the win, as I don’t usually race many of the riders from this league. After the next couple of laps I had a gap of around 20 seconds over the first senior rider. This stayed the same until the last couple of laps when I made another effort to win by about 30 seconds in the end. I’m happy with this result as it hopefully shows some form ahead of the first National Trophy round next weekend at Derby.
