A Champion Lost

All monies to CRY

Hi,

I wonder if you would be good enough to put the word out about a new book I have just written.

It is entitled A Champion Lost. It charts the amazing career of my late brother Barrie Elson, who was the reigning National Schoolboy Cyclo-Cross Champion when he lost his life after being hit by a van whilst out training in August 1967 (he had just turned sixteen).

He had represented Great Britain and won and had been awarded the ‘Cycling’ cyclist of the month award in July of 1966. He was destined for the very top until fate took over.

I was four when he died and have only one memory of him. So making use of all his press cuttings and diaries along with the many stories passed down through the years I have pieced together the book.

Just as importantly though, I have decided to donate all the profits to the charity CRY in memory of Charlie Craig who I was privileged to interview three weeks before his death.

The book can be purchased at www.lulu.com

With kind regards,
Adrian.
