WMCCL Round 4

Race report from supported rider Toby Barnes

Round 4 of the WMCCL was at Shrewsbury on a very dry course with some good technical parts. It was the same course that’s used for the national trophy rounds there, just reversed. I lead off the start and got away with Daniel and another junior rider. None of us were wanting to push hard on the tarmac sections so a few riders caught up to us by the end of the first lap. On the 2nd lap I got a gap on an off-camber section after a mistake from the rider behind. I went really hard for the next lap to get away and had a good gap after a couple of laps. I kept pushing on and won by over a minute in the end. I’ve had a really good start to this season, getting 3 wins and a 2nd in the wmccl so far and am looking forward to the first National Trophy race at Derby this weekend.
