There are a few members of Lichfield CCC that are also orienteers and it has been proposed that the two clubs jointly run a summer series of 2 hour MTBO events close to Lichfield. I am sure that we have the better cyclists – the question is do we have any that can navigate.
The format is – You are given an A4 copy of the 50,000 Ordnance Survey map which has check points with differing values marked on it. You have two hours to plan and execute your way around your chosen ones. If you are late back you start to lose points.
You can ride on roads and bridleway rights of way only – not footpaths.
If you are up for a challenge the dates are on four consecutive Wednesdays – 22 June, 29 June, 6 July and 13 July.
