About the Club

Lichfield CCC is a Go Ride accredited cycling club that embraces all cycling disciplines. This includes an active racing side and the club has achieved success at road races, cyclo cross, mountain bike races and on indoor tracks. We have members that have won world titles in the last few years.

Lichfield is in close proximity to Cannock Chase, a mountain bikers heaven and challenging roads for “roadies” or pleasure cyclists.

The club has a good reputation for encouraging and developing youth riders. Since Go Ride accreditation in 2008 the club has concentrated its development activity on increasing the coaching capacity and the number of trained coaches has risen. This has enabled coaching sessions to cope adequately with larger numbers of junior riders and sessions have had more than 40 riders. There will be weekly training sessions for youth riders from March onwards with more than one group during the summer months.. As well as the club training sessions, the club also organises a Races at Curborough, and Cyclo Cross races as part of the West Midlands Cyclo Cross League (WMCCL). It also runs a series of races for young riders at Curborough during the early summer months that enables  LCCC riders to practice race skills in a familiar environment.

Throughout the year there are regular rides or training on many days of the week. See the club calendar for details.

The club has an increasing level of cycling equipment and cycles which can be loaned to riders and in particular to Youth riders.

The club aims to continue to increase membership levels particularly among children aged 5 – 16 years and women. As expansion occurs the Club will need to consider the most suitable venue for club meetings and plan activities that suit all parts of the membership

In late 2010 a sponsorship agreement with Zipvit was agreed that resulted in a new look for the club. We now have new kit that is available for sale to members at much cheaper prices than would be available from retail outlets. We do however expect riders to wear their new kit whenever possible when out on club rides or in races.

We have a committee to run the club and provide a wide number of people to represent the views of all members. Any of the committee below will be delighted to hear your views on how the club could do better.
